extrox "A4.1" (Arch)
"Autumn 2026" (11 Oct 2026)
extrox "4.1_25" (Debian-antiX)
"Autumn 2026" (11 Oct 2026)
This release focuses on improving the desktop experience and system stability. Based on MX Arch Linux / MX Linux 25, extrox 4.1 / A4.1 serves as the operating environment for the "Lambda Drive Music" and "Lambda Drive Movie" brand new audio filters, which are specialized for music and movie playback. These filters process audio played on the PC in real-time to reshape the sound. Features include Windows-like window fade effects and 3D Alt+Tab transitions powered by Compiz, as well as a function that gathers active windows when the cursor is moved to the top-right corner of the screen. Compiz often broke up in the past release (very sorry), I thoroughly overhauled the Compiz configuration to ensure resilience against updates. Default window color is violet inspired by version 2.0. With Emerald Theme Manager, you can choose your favorite color from violet, cyan, pink, and dark gray. This is a conceptual OS designed to meet the expectations of audiophiles by combining a macOS-like user experience with a unique UI aesthetic. The latest snapshot features transparent Start Menu icons, fixes an issue where brightness would dim during live boot, and replaces some artwork. The dock panel hides intelligently. Lambda Drive Music recommends the MDR-7506, Hi-X20, and HD280 Pro headphones. The Difference between 4.0 and 4.1 are minor bug fix and new boot animation. extrox 4.1 and A4.1 are verified EffectCraft operation (unofficially).

Philosophy
This snapshot continues the extrox concept:
“A media-art Linux for breathing.”
The extrox 3EF series is designed as an operating system that delivers the kind of relaxation found in a late-night club or a quiet research lab.
Freja believes that true healing can exist within a gentle sense of excitement — especially through Audio-Filter’s immersive sound experience.

Notes
extrox remains a small independent project.
All updates are carefully tested on real hardware before release.
developed independently by Freja in Japan
